Risk Protection Plan

By signing this Agreement, the renter ……………………………………………….. agrees with Renta Centre Appliance Rentals (the owner) to accept a risk protection plan offered by the owner upon the following conditions:

1. The renter has entered into a rental agreement, Contract No: ……………………….. (the contract), with the owner for the hire of items listed therein (the items).

2. The renter agrees to accept and the owner offers a risk protection plan in respect of the items listed in the contract for the duration of the contract against the following risks (defined event):

(i) Theft of one or more of the items which has been reported to the nearest police station within 24 hours of the event resulting from a forcible entry of the premises where the items are located so long as the location is the same as set out in the contract or such other location approved by the owner in writing.

(ii) Fire damage to one or more of the items which has been reported to the nearest police station within 24 hours of the event resulting from fire in the premises where the items are located so long as the location is the same as set out in the contract or such other location approved by the owner in writing.

Exclusions
The risk protection plan offered by the owner in respect of the defined event does not extend to willful or intentional acts committed directly or indirectly by the renter or any other person within the control of the renter.

3. The renter shall within 3 business days of a defined event notify the owner in writing of the same and provided the owner with a copy of the report or statement given the renter to the police.

4. Upon the happening of the defined event causing loss or damage to one or more of the items the renter shall pay the owner an excess of $100.00 per item lost, destroyed or damaged.

5. The owner shall not be liable to the renter or any other person or any other person in respect of any incidental loss, spoilage or damage caused directly or indirectly from the happening of a defined event.

6. The owner shall not seek to recover from the renter the cost of any one or more of the items lost, destroyed or damaged as a result of a defined event (subject to the exclusion) upon compliance by the renter of the conditions herein contained (the risk protection plan).

7. The cost to the renter of the risk protection plan shall be $.............. per month which has been included in the contract.

8. Any GST liability will be paid by the renter and added to the monthly rental.
